Floresta Tanzania participated in the 31st Nanenane Exhibition from August 1st to 8th, 2024 In Dodoma and Arusha, Tanzania. The annual event, which marks Farmers’ Day, brought attention to achievements in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries across the country, with a focus on enhancing international visibility, promoting economic growth, and fostering global partnerships.
As an organization committed to sustainable and organic agriculture, Floresta Tanzania showcased a variety of agroecological technologies. These included vegetable garden models such as cake gardens, bottle gardens, and kitchen gardens, designed to use minimal water and space. The organization also displayed organic manure options made from locally available materials, including compost, green manure, and liquid manure.
Farmers from Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) managed by Floresta Tanzania presented their agricultural products, including dried spices and herbs. They had the chance to display and sell their goods, as well as network with other participants. Agricultural officers from Floresta Tanzania were available to educate visitors on these practices.
The Floresta Tanzania booths in Dodoma and Arusha attracted various visitors, including government leaders, NGOs, local farmers, community groups, organic agriculture experts, and other community members. They came to learn more about Floresta’s activities, explore the agroecological technologies on display, and purchase products.
