Floresta Tanzania celebrated World Environment Day by planting a total of 4,170 trees in the Kilimanjaro Region. These trees were planted across the districts of Moshi, Rombo, Mwanga, Same, Hai, and Siha through the groups managed by the organization.

In Siha District, 850 trees were planted along Lawate River. In Mwanga District, 800 trees were planted at Kavazungu Primary School, Kirongo Primary School, and individual farms in Kiloimeni. In Hai District, 1,000 trees were planted along the banks of River Kamwa. In Rombo District, 403 trees were planted at the Njoro water source. In Moshi District, 200 trees were planted at Msae KKKT. In Same District, 917 trees were planted at Mkoyo Water Source, Ishunkwi Water Source, Kakongo Kampare Water Source, and Malewa Water Source.

This initiative is part of Floresta Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development in the Kilimanjaro Region. In line with the 2024 World Environment Day theme of “Ecosystem Restoration,” The environmental conservation activities and other agroecological initiatives undertaken by Floresta Tanzania aim to restore degraded landscapes, enhance biodiversity, and support the resilience of local ecosystems.
